Display IP addresses and further of the host

Displays all ip addresses of the host:

ip address show

  • lo - loopback interface

  • eth0 - ethernet, first interface

  • enp0s3 - interface adapter (en: ethernet, p0: pci bus 0, s3: slot 3)

inet shows the address(range) of the interface; see Ranges

Displays all links of the host:

ip link show

Only show IPv4 interfaces/addresses

ip -4 address show

Show IPv4 address of a specific address, e.g. docker0

ip -4 address show docker0
